In 2007, they were headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. Instead of having lenses, the design is characterized by its "shutter" motif, which is part of the frame, and are marketed as suitable for both men and women. The design is inspired by the fashion of the 1980s, though the design was directly inspired by an Alain Mikli custom design for Kanye West. Kanye West popularized the glasses in the music video for Stronger. Shou from Alice Nine was also seen wearing it in the music video, RAINBOWS. Inspired by the fashion of the 1980's fused with a futuristic touch, Shutter Shades bridge the gap between styles of the past, present and future. Unique in design and function, these shades are in very high demand worldwide. The summer of 2007 marked the worldwide launch of Shutter Shades and with Limited Edition sets in the works, Shutter Shades are headed into the next dimension of fashion accessories.
